Migration Selection Weight Single Person Tool

Multiply one supplied person weight by an explicit nonnegative migration-selection factor without estimating selection.

Description

Multiply a base demographic weight by a supplied selection factor.

Demographic economic terms depend on age-window boundaries, population scope, household equivalence units and supplied fiscal assumptions. A worker-share change is not an estimated demographic dividend, and endpoint survivors times duration differ from integrated life-table person-years. Local pension or subsidy calculations do not determine actual eligibility or entitlement.

Multiply a base demographic weight by a supplied selection factor.

When to use this tool

Use Migration Selection Weight Single Person when you already have baseWeight, suppliedSelectionFactor and need to multiply a base demographic weight by a supplied selection factor.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter baseWeight, suppliedSelectionFactor. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read adjustedWeight. Use the output convention below.

Require both factors>=0; return baseWeight*suppliedSelectionFactor.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
baseWeightBase WeightRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
suppliedSelectionFactorNonnegative supplied multiplier, potentially above one; not automatically an inverse probability.Required. Finite number; minimum 0.

adjustedWeightAdjusted WeightRequired. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • The factor may exceed one and is not necessarily an inverse probability. No migration selection, representativeness, normalization or causal correction is estimated.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use complete population, cohort, labor and fiscal records with the chosen equivalence and exposure definitions. Review applicable benefit rules and estimate the appropriate model for policy analysis; one supplied allocation or accounting ratio does not establish behavior or economic effects.
