Description
Strip a terminal quoted-printable soft-break marker if present.
Escaping and token decoding depend on the surrounding format. Form-data plus signs, MIME Q underscores, quoted-printable octets and quoted CSV fragments have different meanings even when their text looks similar.
Strip a terminal quoted-printable soft-break marker if present.
When to use this tool
Use Decoding: Quoted Printable Soft Break Line when decoding one explicitly supported format fragment.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter line. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read result. Expand result to inspect the returned fields.
Strip a terminal quoted-printable soft-break marker if present. softBreak checks exact equals plus CRLF at line end; content removes those three characters only when matched.1
Quoted-printable uses hexadecimal escapes and soft line breaks. A local escape or line check does not reconstruct a complete MIME body.2
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| line | Line | Required. Text. Implementation limit: 8192 Unicode code points and 16384 UTF-16 code units. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| result | Returned object; expand its named members below. | Required. Object. |
| result.softBreak | Soft Break | Calculated result member: boolean. |
| result.content | Content | Calculated result member: string. |
{
"input": {
"line": "abc=\r\n"
},
"output": {
"result": {
"softBreak": true,
"content": "abc"
}
}
} Limitations and assumptions
- Other escapes and line syntax remain unchanged; this is not a complete MIME decoder.
- Outputs are nested inside result. Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the full format-specific parser for framing, context, charset conversion and complete data validation.
