Quoted Printable Hex Pair Octet Tool

Compute quoted printable hex pair octet from explicit bounded inputs.

Description

Decode one quoted-printable hexadecimal octet token.

Escaping and token decoding depend on the surrounding format. Form-data plus signs, MIME Q underscores, quoted-printable octets and quoted CSV fragments have different meanings even when their text looks similar.

Decode one quoted-printable hexadecimal octet token.

When to use this tool

Use Quoted Printable Hex Pair Octet when decoding one explicitly supported format fragment.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter token. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read octet. Use the output convention below.

Decode one quoted-printable hexadecimal octet token. Require equals followed by exactly two case-insensitive hexadecimal digits; return the parsed octet.1

Quoted-printable uses hexadecimal escapes and soft line breaks. A local escape or line check does not reconstruct a complete MIME body.2

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
tokenTokenRequired. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
octetOne numeric octet, from 0 through 255.Required. Safe integer.

Limitations and assumptions

  • This does not decode a whole body, process soft breaks or convert bytes to text.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the full format-specific parser for framing, context, charset conversion and complete data validation.
