Description
Build a supplied quotation-context locator and inclusive line count.
Cultural records distinguish original and translated wording, source works, credited roles, territories and recorded access categories. A line locator depends on edition and source context, while a credit string does not establish attribution authority or rights. Source-qualified labels organize assertions without making cultural or legal interpretations.
Build a supplied quotation-context locator and inclusive line count.
When to use this tool
Use Cultural Quotation Context Locator when you already have sourceId, firstLine, lastLine, contextWording and need to build a supplied quotation-context locator and inclusive line count.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter sourceId, firstLine, lastLine, contextWording. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read inclusiveLines, locator. Use the output convention below.
Require source/context strings nonempty and safe line numbers 1<=first<=last; inclusiveLines=last-first+1 and locator=JSON.stringify([sourceId,firstLine,lastLine,contextWording]).1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |

| firstLine | First Line | Required. Safe integer; minimum 1. |
| lastLine | Last Line | Required. Safe integer. |
| contextWording | Context Wording | Required. Text; minimum UTF-16 length 1; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| inclusiveLines | lastLine-firstLine+1; a single supplied line counts one. | Required. Safe integer. |
| locator | Locator | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- A single line counts one. No quotation, edition, line-numbering scheme, source content or permission to reproduce it is checked.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect the original work, edition, credit instructions and permissions when preparing cultural material for use. Preserve documentary context and the relevant interpretive method; local label formatting and pair keys do not verify meaning, authorship or access rights.
