Gift Donor Recipient Balance

Compare two explicitly recorded valuations of the same gift in a common analytical unit without assigning social equivalence.

Loading tool…

Description

Compare a recipient's and donor's recorded gift values.

Anthropological records preserve source language, translation status, community terms, household reference dates, kinship labels and permission context. A reciprocal-term display is not a verified kinship rule, while a pseudonym collision differs from identity verification. Display masks and public-access labels do not establish adequate protection or valid consent.

Compare a recipient's and donor's recorded gift values.

When to use this tool

Use Gift Donor Recipient Balance when you already have donorRecordedValue, recipientRecordedValue and need to compare a recipient's and donor's recorded gift values.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter donorRecordedValue, recipientRecordedValue. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read recordedValueGap. Use the output convention below.

Require both values>=0; return recipientRecordedValue-donorRecordedValue.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Use comparable valuation and unit bases. A signed discrepancy does not establish actual transfer, reciprocity, obligation or cultural meaning.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Consult the original field records, community-provided terms, translation sources and permission instructions for actual interpretation or reuse. Apply protection to underlying records and evaluate the full research context; local keys and status labels do not perform those tasks.
