Description

Check an authorized term/gloss version and preserve its supplied key.

Source support, credit and authorization are different concepts. Supplied flags and vocabularies can support record bookkeeping but cannot independently establish consent, cultural authority, equitable credit or legal reuse rights.

Check an authorized term/gloss version and preserve its supplied key.

When to use this tool

Use Authorized Term Gloss Version when checking one explicitly supplied support, permission or credit convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter term, gloss, suppliedVersion, requiredVersion, authorized. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read currentAuthorized, preservedKey. Inspect currentAuthorized before interpreting the associated values.

Check an authorized term/gloss version and preserve its supplied key. currentAuthorized requires authorized and exact version equality; preservedKey serializes term, gloss and suppliedVersion.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The key does not verify provenance, consent, permission currency or the accuracy of a gloss.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Verify the actual provenance, permissions and relevant community expectations before reusing or interpreting material.
