Description
Convert a supplied angular value with an explicit radians-per-unit factor.
Cosmology uses several distance measures and often expresses the expansion rate in mixed astronomical units. Scale-factor relations, inverse-Hubble scales and relativistic velocity composition answer different questions; units and the distinction between local algebra and an integrated expansion history are essential.
Convert a supplied angular value with an explicit radians-per-unit factor.
When to use this tool
Use Cosmological Angle Radian Basis Token when checking one explicit cosmological distance, redshift-factor or unit convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter angle, suppliedRadiansPerUnit, unitLabel. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read radians, sourceUnit. Use the output convention below.
Convert a supplied angular value with an explicit radians-per-unit factor. Require factor > 0 and nonempty unitLabel; radians = angle*factor and sourceUnit retains the label.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| angle | Angle | Required. Finite number. |
| suppliedRadiansPerUnit | Supplied Radians Per Unit | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| unitLabel | Unit Label | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| radians | Radians | Required. Finite number. |
| sourceUnit | Source Unit | Required. Text; maximum UTF-16 length 8192. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The factor and label are not cross-validated; a declared unit name does not establish the correct angular convention.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use a complete cosmological distance/time calculation and the appropriate observation model when an actual source distance, age or velocity is required.
