Description
Rescale concentration for a supplied volume expansion.
Amount, mass and volume bases are distinct. Converting among them requires the appropriate molar mass, density, solvent basis or gas reference state; no universal factor can replace these supplied conventions.
Rescale concentration for a supplied volume expansion.
When to use this tool
Use Conversion: Volume Basis Concentration Temperature Scale when converting the stated concentration, molar quantity or gas-volume basis.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter concentration, volumeExpansionFactor. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read result. Expand result to inspect the returned fields.
Rescale concentration for a supplied volume expansion. Require concentration >= 0 and volumeExpansionFactor > 0; adjustedConcentration = concentration/factor.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| concentration | Concentration | Required. Finite number. |
| volumeExpansionFactor | Volume Expansion Factor | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| result | Returned calculated value or nested object under the stated output convention. | Required. Object. |
| result.adjustedConcentration | Adjusted Concentration | Calculated result member: number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- The factor is final/initial volume at fixed solute amount; no thermal expansion coefficient, density or temperature model is selected.
- Outputs are nested inside result. Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use explicit compatible units and verified composition/state data; use a full mixture or equation-of-state model when fixed-property assumptions do not apply.
