Recall Window Age Offset Tool

Calculate recall window age offset from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Compare event age with a supplied recall window.

Consumer-study records can describe exposure, recall, option availability and purchase-value bases. Local record arithmetic preserves a supplied study or billing convention without measuring preferences, establishing memory accuracy or determining consumer rights.

Compare event age with a supplied recall window.

When to use this tool

Use Recall Window Age Offset when checking a supplied consumer-record, recall-window, choice or basket convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter eventAt, interviewAt, windowLength. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read age, boundaryOffset, withinWindow. Inspect withinWindow before interpreting the associated values.

Compare event age with a supplied recall window. Require windowLength >= 0; age = interviewAt-eventAt, boundaryOffset = age-windowLength; withinWindow requires nonfuture event and age <= window.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • A timestamp inequality does not establish memory accuracy, actual exposure or a validated recall instrument.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use actual study data, validated measurement methods and applicable merchant/consumer rules for substantive behavioral or transaction conclusions.
