Purchase Recall Window Exposure Tool

Measure supplied half-open recall/window overlap without imputing remembered purchases.

Description

Return overlap of a recall interval with an observation window.

Consumer-study records can describe exposure, recall, option availability and purchase-value bases. Local record arithmetic preserves a supplied study or billing convention without measuring preferences, establishing memory accuracy or determining consumer rights.

Return overlap of a recall interval with an observation window.

When to use this tool

Use Purchase Recall Window Exposure when checking a supplied consumer-record, recall-window, choice or basket convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter windowStart, windowEnd, recallStart, recallEnd. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read overlapDuration, windowShare. Use the output convention below.

Return overlap of a recall interval with an observation window. Require windowStart < windowEnd and recallStart <= recallEnd; overlap uses max(0,min(ends)-max(starts)), windowShare divides by window length.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Touching intervals have zero overlap; supplied times are not independently verified and recall quality is not measured.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use actual study data, validated measurement methods and applicable merchant/consumer rules for substantive behavioral or transaction conclusions.
