Description

Return exposure-weighted choice support for one product.

Consumer-study records can describe exposure, recall, option availability and purchase-value bases. Local record arithmetic preserves a supplied study or billing convention without measuring preferences, establishing memory accuracy or determining consumer rights.

Return exposure-weighted choice support for one product.

When to use this tool

Use Product Choice Exposure Share when checking a supplied consumer-record, recall-window, choice or basket convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter productIds, exposureWeights, chosen, selectedProduct. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read productExposure, chosenExposure, choiceShare, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.

Return exposure-weighted choice support for one product. Require aligned arrays and nonnegative weights; sum selected-product exposure and chosen selected exposure, divide when positive, otherwise zero with defined false.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Weights and choices are supplied; this is not an unbiased market preference or causal conversion estimate.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use actual study data, validated measurement methods and applicable merchant/consumer rules for substantive behavioral or transaction conclusions.
