Description

Return value-weighted quantity reversals.

Construction bookkeeping distinguishes installed, accepted, credited and reworked quantities, as well as contractual cost and schedule conventions. A local variance or budget term can expose a gap without verifying work quality, payment entitlement or the project critical path.

Return value-weighted quantity reversals.

When to use this tool

Use Quantity Credit Reversal Share when checking a supplied construction quantity, charge, record or schedule convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter creditedQuantities, reversedQuantities, unitValues. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read creditedValue, reversalValue, netValue, reversalShare, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.

Return value-weighted quantity reversals. Require aligned nonnegative creditedQuantities/reversedQuantities/unitValues; creditedValue and reversalValue sum quantity*unitValue, net subtracts, reversalShare divides by creditedValue or zero with defined false.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Reversals can exceed credits and net may be negative; no entitlement, accounting policy or quantity record is verified.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified project records, a complete schedule and governing contracts; involve qualified construction, engineering or legal professionals for practical decisions.
