Plant Idle Credit Base Tool

Calculate plant idle credit base from explicit caller-supplied inputs.

Description

Apply a supplied idle-plant credit fraction.

Construction bookkeeping distinguishes installed, accepted, credited and reworked quantities, as well as contractual cost and schedule conventions. A local variance or budget term can expose a gap without verifying work quality, payment entitlement or the project critical path.

Apply a supplied idle-plant credit fraction.

When to use this tool

Use Plant Idle Credit Base when checking a supplied construction quantity, charge, record or schedule convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter idleHours, hourlyHire, creditFraction, fixedCharge, includeFixed. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read gross, credit, net. Use the output convention below.

Apply a supplied idle-plant credit fraction. Require nonnegative idleHours/hourlyHire/fixedCharge and fraction in [0,1]; gross = hours*hire+fixed, credit applies to variable hire plus fixed only when includeFixed, net = gross-credit.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Actual standby eligibility, contractual exclusions and recoverable amounts are not established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified project records, a complete schedule and governing contracts; involve qualified construction, engineering or legal professionals for practical decisions.
