Description

Count barcode ambiguity across supplied cell assignments.

Computational biology distinguishes discrete counts, probabilistic weights, sequence indexes and logical rules. A supplied event or record flag can be summarized without simulating a stochastic process, validating a sequence annotation or establishing a biological mechanism.

Count barcode ambiguity across supplied cell assignments.

When to use this tool

Use Cell Barcode Ambiguity Count when checking the stated count, sequence, Boolean-rule or support convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter observedBarcodes, assignedCells, unassignedToken. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read ambiguousBarcodes, assignedBarcodes, unassignedRecords. Use the output convention below.

Count barcode ambiguity across supplied cell assignments. Require aligned observedBarcodes/assignedCells; ignore unassignedToken records in grouping, count distinct assigned barcodes and those with more than one distinct cell.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Unassigned records are counted separately; sequencing error, actual barcode collision and biological doublets are not inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the complete sequence, identifier universe or stochastic/logical model for actual inference, sampling and uncertainty analysis.
