Boolean Regulator Inhibition Token Tool

Evaluate an explicit Boolean gating rule; no gene network or biological effect is inferred.

Description

Evaluate one Boolean activator/inhibitor rule.

Computational biology distinguishes discrete counts, probabilistic weights, sequence indexes and logical rules. A supplied event or record flag can be summarized without simulating a stochastic process, validating a sequence annotation or establishing a biological mechanism.

Evaluate one Boolean activator/inhibitor rule.

When to use this tool

Use Boolean Regulator Inhibition Token when checking the stated count, sequence, Boolean-rule or support convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter activators, inhibitors, activatorRule. Keep parallel arrays aligned. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read activated, inhibited, output. Inspect activated, inhibited, output before interpreting the associated values.

Evaluate one Boolean activator/inhibitor rule. Require activatorRule all or any; activated uses every/some, inhibited uses any true inhibitor, output = activated && !inhibited.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
activatorsActivatorsRequired. Array of boolean; maximum items 256.
inhibitorsInhibitorsRequired. Array of boolean; maximum items 256.
activatorRuleActivator RuleRequired. Text; one of "all", "any"; maximum UTF-16 length 8192.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
activatedall uses true for an empty activator list; any uses false for empty.Required. Boolean.
inhibitedInhibitedRequired. Boolean.
outputOutputRequired. Boolean.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Empty all-activators is true and empty any-activators false; this is a supplied logical rule, not inferred gene regulation.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use the complete sequence, identifier universe or stochastic/logical model for actual inference, sampling and uncertainty analysis.
