Donated Material Unit Value

Extend an explicitly assigned unit value for a donated material quantity without appraising market value or tax deductibility.

Description

Calculate a donated-material record value using a supplied unit value.

Community records describe contributions, volunteer time, grants, notices, language requests and meeting participation. Person-minutes differ from elapsed task time, assigned in-kind values require a valuation basis, and a nominal seat count need not be a whole-person allocation. Supplied participation or permission flags do not verify actual access, consent or eligibility.

When to use this tool

Use Donated Material Unit Value when you already have quantity, suppliedUnitValue and need to calculate a donated-material record value using a supplied unit value.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter quantity, suppliedUnitValue. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read recordedValue. Use the output convention below.

Require quantity/unit value>=0; multiply them.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Units and valuation basis must match. No fair value, tax deductibility, donor entitlement, material condition or appropriate reuse is determined.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the underlying meeting, funding, service and volunteer records with the applicable project rules. Use full budgets, schedules and participation evidence when evaluating delivery or fairness; local labels and arithmetic retain only the stated assumptions.
