Description
Separate a trial site's supplied recruitment remainder and surplus.
Trial records distinguish protocol labels, participant events, supply balances and cutoff policies. An inclusive cutoff differs from an exclusive one, and a drug-accountability balance does not establish adherence or a suitable dose. Supplied consent and observation states are not independently verified by a local calculation.

When to use this tool
Use Trial Recruitment Site Target Gap when you already have targetCount, recruitedCount and need to separate a trial site's supplied recruitment remainder and surplus.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter targetCount, recruitedCount. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read remainingCount, surplusCount. Use the output convention below.
Require nonnegative safe target/recruited counts; return max(0,target-recruited) and max(0,recruited-target).1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| targetCount | Target Count | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| recruitedCount | Recruited Count | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| remainingCount | Remaining Count | Required. Safe integer. |
| surplusCount | Surplus Count | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No participant, eligibility, recruitment, consent, target rule or trial status is verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Check the controlled protocol, source records, accountability logs and applicable oversight requirements. Use the full trial workflow and analysis for participant or study decisions; local date comparisons and labels do not determine safety, eligibility or treatment.
