Medicine Strength Mass Basis Token Tool

Apply a caller-supplied mass-basis fraction to a label quantity, without deriving salt factors, dose or interchangeability.

Description

Return active mass only when its basis is declared known.

A medicine label expresses an amount on a particular mass, volume or other quantity basis. Ratios are meaningful only when numerator, denominator and active-component conventions match; a supplied conversion or fraction does not establish medicine equivalence or an appropriate dose.

Return active mass only when its basis is declared known.

When to use this tool

Use Medicine Strength Mass Basis Token when checking the stated medicine-label amount, unit or component-basis convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter labeledMass, suppliedActiveFraction, basisKnown. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read activeMassDefined, activeMass. Inspect activeMassDefined before interpreting the associated values.

Return active mass only when its basis is declared known. Require labeledMass >= 0 and suppliedActiveFraction in [0,1]; activeMassDefined = basisKnown, activeMass = labeledMass*fraction when known, otherwise zero.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
labeledMassLabeled MassRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.
suppliedActiveFractionDimensionless caller-supplied active-component mass fraction, not a verified medicine conversion.Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1.
basisKnownBasis KnownRequired. Boolean.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
activeMassDefinedActive Mass DefinedRequired. Boolean.
activeMassLabeled mass times the supplied active fraction when basisKnown; zero placeholder otherwise.Required. Finite number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Zero with an unknown basis is a placeholder; no medicine identity, salt equivalence, recommended dose or safe administration is established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Verify the original label, ingredient identity and source edition with a qualified pharmacist; use verified unit conversion and clinical assessment for any actual medicine decision.
