Description
Round a supplied nonnegative height to a selected quantum.
Developmental records distinguish calendar age, supplied age corrections, observation states, assent and privacy choices. A corrected age can be negative under supplied assumptions, and a missing response differs from an observed zero. A display mask changes presentation without protecting the underlying record.
Round a supplied nonnegative height to a selected quantum.
When to use this tool
Use Child Height Record Measurement Rounding when you already have height, reportingQuantum and need to round a supplied nonnegative height to a selected quantum.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter height, reportingQuantum. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read reportedHeight, signedAdjustment. Use the output convention below.
Require height>=0 and reportingQuantum positive/finite; reported=Math.round(height/quantum)*quantum, adjustment=reported-height.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| height | Height | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| reportingQuantum | Reporting Quantum | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| reportedHeight | Math.round(height/reportingQuantum)*reportingQuantum; nonnegative halfway cases round upward. | Required. Finite number. |
| signedAdjustment | Signed Adjustment | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Nonnegative half ties round upward subject to binary arithmetic. No height, growth, reporting standard, reference range or developmental finding is measured or selected.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the complete observation or assessment method, age convention and consent context. Review source records and data protection together; local counts, labels and geometric measurements do not establish development, diagnosis or appropriate support.
