RR Interval Sample Count Tool

Count uniform research samples in a supplied interval using explicit endpoint inclusion; no rhythm interpretation.

Loading tool…

Description

Return whole sampling intervals and endpoint-policy sample count.

Cardiac recordings use sample indexes, time origins, event markers and observation windows. A sample-grid count, interval conversion or phase comparison operates on supplied records; it does not detect an actual heartbeat, validate an ECG or determine a clinical diagnosis.

Return whole sampling intervals and endpoint-policy sample count.

When to use this tool

Use RR Interval Sample Count when checking the stated cardiac-record indexing, timing, phase or coverage convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter durationSeconds, sampleRateHz, includeEndpoint. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read completeIntervals, samples. Use the output convention below.

Return whole sampling intervals and endpoint-policy sample count. Require durationSeconds >= 0 and sampleRateHz > 0; completeIntervals = floor(duration*rate), samples adds one only when includeEndpoint.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input

Limitations and assumptions

  • This assumes a uniform sampling grid; actual R peaks, RR intervals and physiological events are not detected.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Inspect the actual recording, acquisition settings and event annotations; use validated analysis and qualified clinical interpretation for patient-related decisions.
