ECG Sample RR Interval Duration Factor Tool

One interval from supplied ECG peak sample indices; no peak detection, rhythm classification or clinical interpretation.

Loading tool…

Description

Return RR duration and reciprocal beat rate from two sample markers.

Cardiac recordings use sample indexes, time origins, event markers and observation windows. A sample-grid count, interval conversion or phase comparison operates on supplied records; it does not detect an actual heartbeat, validate an ECG or determine a clinical diagnosis.

Return RR duration and reciprocal beat rate from two sample markers.

When to use this tool

Use ECG Sample RR Interval Duration Factor when checking the stated cardiac-record indexing, timing, phase or coverage convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter firstPeak, secondPeak, sampleHz. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read samples, seconds, beatsPerMinute. Use the output convention below.

Return RR duration and reciprocal beat rate from two sample markers. Require whole firstPeak >= 0, secondPeak > first and sampleHz > 0; samples = second-first, seconds = samples/rate, beatsPerMinute = 60*rate/samples.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • This assumes correct consecutive R-peak markers and uniform sampling; no signal detection, rhythm diagnosis or rate suitability is provided.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Inspect the actual recording, acquisition settings and event annotations; use validated analysis and qualified clinical interpretation for patient-related decisions.
