Description
Compare two echo-axis endpoints against a shared origin.
Cardiac measurement formulas depend on geometry, units, calibration and reference origins. A Doppler projection correction, echo disc-volume contribution or waveform integral evaluates supplied quantities without validating image acquisition, signal quality or physiological interpretation.
Compare two echo-axis endpoints against a shared origin.
When to use this tool
Use Echo Reference Axis Gap when checking one supplied cardiac measurement, geometry or calibration term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter measuredAxis, referenceAxis, origin. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read endpointDifference, lengthGap. Use the output convention below.
Compare two echo-axis endpoints against a shared origin. Require exactly two coordinates per endpoint/origin; endpointDifference = measured-reference, lengthGap = norm(measured-origin)-norm(reference-origin).1

} Limitations and assumptions
- This is planar supplied geometry, without image calibration, segmentation or diagnostic interpretation.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use validated acquisition and calibration, a complete appropriate measurement method and qualified clinical interpretation; assess measurement uncertainty and model assumptions separately.
