Description
Calculate supplied voting-share fraction and a weighted vote term.
Administrative records depend on policy dates, authorization scope, attendance denominators and accounting definitions. A calendar-date shift does not skip holidays, a quorum fraction is not a quorum decision, and a weighted voting fraction differs from economic ownership. Recorded signatory presence does not authenticate a signature or establish authority.
Calculate supplied voting-share fraction and a weighted vote term.
When to use this tool
Use Subsidiary Ownership Vote Weight when you already have heldVotingShares, totalVotingShares, voteMultiplier and need to calculate supplied voting-share fraction and a weighted vote term.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter heldVotingShares, totalVotingShares, voteMultiplier. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read ownershipFraction, weightedVote. Use the output convention below.
Require positive total voting shares, held shares within total and multiplier>=0; fraction=held/total, weighted=fraction*multiplier.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| heldVotingShares | Held Voting Shares | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| totalVotingShares | Total Voting Shares | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| voteMultiplier | Vote Multiplier | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| ownershipFraction | heldVotingShares/totalVotingShares: a voting-share fraction, not economic ownership. | Required. Finite number. |
| weightedVote | ownershipFraction*voteMultiplier; may exceed one and is not an inferred control right. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Fractional share inputs are accepted and weightedVote may exceed one. No total economic ownership, actual voting rights, normalization or corporate control is established.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Check controlled policies, meeting records, contracts and account definitions. Apply the complete applicable rules when actual approval, payment or governance matters; local version selection and arithmetic do not make those determinations.
