Seed Purity Live Lot Remainder Tool

Compute a pure-live mass equivalent from supplied fractions on compatible mass bases.

Description

Return pure-live seed mass from supplied fractions.

Plant observations and seed or growth summaries depend on sampling area, observation time, material basis and inclusion policy. A local count or ratio can be consistent with the supplied records without estimating a complete population, establishing germination quality or identifying a growth mechanism.

Return pure-live seed mass from supplied fractions.

When to use this tool

Use Seed Purity Live Lot Remainder when checking the stated botanical observation, seed, growth or coverage convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter lotMass, pureFraction, viableFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read pureLiveMass, remainderMass. Use the output convention below.

Return pure-live seed mass from supplied fractions. Require lotMass >= 0 and pureFraction/viableFraction in [0,1]; pureLiveMass = mass*purity*viability, remainderMass subtracts it.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Viability is assumed conditional on the pure component; this is an equivalent mass term, not a measured seed count or germination forecast.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified observations and an appropriate sampling, growth or material-balance model; assess uncertainty and biological meaning separately.
