Plate Well Row Parity Bit Tool

Report zero-based row parity under an explicit origin and plate row count.

Description

Return zero-based row and row parity.

Laboratory quantities depend on sample volume, concentration basis, blank correction, geometry and calibration. A dilution, recovery fraction or signal correction evaluates a supplied measurement model without validating the assay, identifying a substance or establishing biological or clinical performance.

Return zero-based row and row parity.

When to use this tool

Use Plate Well Row Parity Bit when checking the stated laboratory bookkeeping, signal, sample or measurement convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter rowIndex, rowOrigin, rowCount. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read zeroBasedRow, oddRow. Inspect oddRow before interpreting the associated values.

Return zero-based row and row parity. Require origin zero/one, positive whole rowCount and rowIndex within the declared range; zeroBasedRow = index-origin, oddRow tests its modulo two.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
rowIndexRow IndexRequired. Safe integer.
rowOriginRow OriginRequired. Safe integer.
rowCountRow CountRequired. Safe integer; minimum 1.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
zeroBasedRowZero Based RowRequired. Safe integer.
oddRowOdd RowRequired. Boolean.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Parity follows zero-based rows regardless of display labels; no physical plate, layout or experiment is validated.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified sample records, calibrated equipment and an appropriate validated measurement method; assess uncertainty and practical laboratory conditions independently.
