Safety Inspection Date Precision Token Tool

Propagate supplied inspection date uncertainty without selecting inspection intervals.

Description

Return age range of a precision-bounded inspection date.

Laboratory-safety administration tracks inspection records, equipment counts, training coverage and supplied policy limits. A local balance or current-status flag can reveal a record gap while actual equipment condition, training competence and adequate protection require independent verification.

Return age range of a precision-bounded inspection date.

When to use this tool

Use Safety Inspection Date Precision Token when checking the stated laboratory-safety record, timing, capacity or inventory convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter inspectionLower, inspectionUpper, checkDay. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read ageLower, ageUpper, exactDate. Inspect exactDate before interpreting the associated values.

Return age range of a precision-bounded inspection date. Require inspectionLower <= inspectionUpper; ageLower = checkDay-upper, ageUpper = checkDay-lower, exactDate means equal endpoints.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Negative ages are retained; date precision does not establish an actual inspection, safe condition or current certificate.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Inspect actual equipment and verified records under the applicable procedures; use qualified risk assessment and professional judgment to determine adequate protection and actual authorization.
