Description
Return unanswered/complete checklist fractions under a not-applicable policy.
Laboratory-safety administration tracks inspection records, equipment counts, training coverage and supplied policy limits. A local balance or current-status flag can reveal a record gap while actual equipment condition, training competence and adequate protection require independent verification.
Return unanswered/complete checklist fractions under a not-applicable policy.
When to use this tool
Use Biosafety Supplied Checklist Unanswered Share when checking the stated laboratory-safety record, timing, capacity or inventory convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter answered, unanswered, notApplicable, countNotApplicable. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read denominator, unansweredFraction, completeFraction. Use the output convention below.
Return unanswered/complete checklist fractions under a not-applicable policy. Require nonnegative whole counts and answered+unanswered > 0; denominator also includes notApplicable only when countNotApplicable, fractions divide unanswered and answered separately.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| answered | Answered | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| unanswered | Unanswered | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| notApplicable | Not Applicable | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| countNotApplicable | Count Not Applicable | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| denominator | Denominator | Required. Safe integer. |
| unansweredFraction | Unanswered Fraction Unit: 1. | Required. Finite number. |
| completeFraction | answered/denominator; with not-applicable items counted, complete plus unanswered may be below one. Unit: 1. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Including not-applicable items can make the two fractions sum below one; a completion fraction is not a safety certification.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect actual equipment and verified records under the applicable procedures; use qualified risk assessment and professional judgment to determine adequate protection and actual authorization.
