Description
Return inspection score under an unscored-item denominator policy.
Laboratory-safety administration tracks inspection records, equipment counts, training coverage and supplied policy limits. A local balance or current-status flag can reveal a record gap while actual equipment condition, training competence and adequate protection require independent verification.
Return inspection score under an unscored-item denominator policy.
When to use this tool
Use Biosafety Inspection Unscored Item Denominator when checking the stated laboratory-safety record, timing, capacity or inventory convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter scored, unscored, excluded, maximumPoints, earnedPoints, includeUnscored. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read denominator, scoreFraction, unscoredShare. Use the output convention below.
Return inspection score under an unscored-item denominator policy. Require scored >= 1, nonnegative whole unscored/excluded, maximumPoints > 0 and earnedPoints within scored capacity; scoreFraction = earned/[maxPoints*(scored+optional unscored)], unscoredShare = unscored/(scored+unscored+excluded).1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| scored | Scored | Required. Safe integer; minimum 1. |
| unscored | Unscored | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| excluded | Excluded | Required. Safe integer; minimum 0. |
| maximumPoints | Maximum Points | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| earnedPoints | Earned Points | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| includeUnscored | Include Unscored | Required. Boolean. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| denominator | Denominator | Required. Safe integer. |
| scoreFraction | Score Fraction Unit: 1. | Required. Finite number. |
| unscoredShare | Unscored divided by scored+unscored+excluded; excluded does not change the points denominator. Unit: 1. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Excluded items affect only unscoredShare; scoring rules and safety compliance are supplied rather than verified.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Inspect actual equipment and verified records under the applicable procedures; use qualified risk assessment and professional judgment to determine adequate protection and actual authorization.
