Treatment Cell Water Volume Term Tool

Compute a supplied cell geometry/water-fraction term without treatment performance claims.

Description

Return water volume in a treatment-cell geometry.

Environmental-remediation bookkeeping uses explicit water, soil, dry-mass, concentration and sampling bases. A local mass residual, censored-result bound or supplied target margin does not identify a removal mechanism, establish representativeness or determine an environmentally acceptable contaminant level.

Return water volume in a treatment-cell geometry.

When to use this tool

Use Treatment Cell Water Volume Term when checking the stated remediation measurement, mass/volume balance or support convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter area, thickness, waterFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read waterVolume. Use the output convention below.

Return water volume in a treatment-cell geometry. Require area/thickness >= 0 and waterFraction in [0,1]; waterVolume = area*thickness*fraction.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
areaAreaRequired. Finite number; minimum 0.

waterFractionSupplied water-volume fraction of the area*thickness cell volume, not a mass fraction.Required. Finite number; minimum 0; maximum 1.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Area/thickness must produce compatible volume; the water fraction basis and actual porosity, saturation or treatment state are supplied.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified sampling and analytical data, consistent material/unit bases and a complete transport or treatment model; involve qualified environmental professionals for practical or regulatory decisions.
