Description
Calculate one supplied observation's sampling-weighted contribution.
Biomonitoring records distinguish specimen and collection provenance, observation states, source-qualified results and supplied exposure labels. A local comparison or normalized value depends on its stated reference and measurement basis. Recorded observations do not by themselves establish exposure history, biological harm or an appropriate intervention.
Calculate one supplied observation's sampling-weighted contribution.
When to use this tool
Use Biomonitoring Sampling Weight Value when you already have observationValue, suppliedSamplingWeight and need to calculate one supplied observation's sampling-weighted contribution.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter observationValue, suppliedSamplingWeight. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read weightedContribution. Use the output convention below.
Require samplingWeight>=0; multiply the signed observationValue.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| observationValue | Observation Value | Required. Finite number. |
| suppliedSamplingWeight | Supplied Sampling Weight | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| weightedContribution | Weighted Contribution | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Weight may exceed one. No sampling probability, population mean, representative sample, exposure or clinical finding is estimated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Review original specimen, laboratory, collection and exposure records with the full assessment method. Verify comparability and provenance before drawing health or environmental conclusions from local flags, labels or arithmetic.
