Description
Return parent/metabolite mole amounts and their ratio.
Biomarker normalization changes the reporting basis, for example from sample volume to creatinine, lipid mass, moles or matrix quantity. The numerator, denominator and conversion factors must describe compatible quantities; normalization does not by itself establish exposure, toxicity or clinical meaning.
Return parent/metabolite mole amounts and their ratio.
When to use this tool
Use Biomonitoring Parent Metabolite Molar Factor when converting or comparing the stated analytical reporting basis.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter parentMass, metaboliteMass, parentMolarMass, metaboliteMolarMass. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read parentMoles, metaboliteMoles, metaboliteParentRatio. Use the output convention below.
Return parent/metabolite mole amounts and their ratio. Require parentMass and both molar masses > 0, metaboliteMass >= 0; moles = mass/molarMass, ratio = metabolite moles/parent moles.1

| parentMolarMass | Parent Molar Mass | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| metaboliteMolarMass | Metabolite Molar Mass | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| parentMoles | Parent Moles | Required. Finite number. |
| metaboliteMoles | Metabolite Moles | Required. Finite number. |
| metaboliteParentRatio | Metabolite Parent Ratio | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Masses and molar masses must share compatible units; no metabolic yield, stoichiometric conversion or health interpretation is inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
