Description
Return analyte per converted creatinine basis.
Biomarker normalization changes the reporting basis, for example from sample volume to creatinine, lipid mass, moles or matrix quantity. The numerator, denominator and conversion factors must describe compatible quantities; normalization does not by itself establish exposure, toxicity or clinical meaning.
Return analyte per converted creatinine basis.
When to use this tool
Use Biomarker Creatinine Unit Base Flag when converting or comparing the stated analytical reporting basis.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter analytePerVolume, creatininePerVolume, suppliedCreatinineUnitFactor. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read normalized, convertedCreatinine. Use the output convention below.
Return analyte per converted creatinine basis. Require creatininePerVolume and its supplied unit factor > 0; convertedCreatinine = concentration*factor, normalized = analytePerVolume/convertedCreatinine.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| analytePerVolume | Analyte Per Volume | Required. Finite number. |
| creatininePerVolume | Creatinine Per Volume | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| suppliedCreatinineUnitFactor | Factor converting the creatinine concentration to the intended denominator mass/volume units. | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| normalized | Normalized | Required. Finite number. |
| convertedCreatinine | Converted Creatinine | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Compatible volume bases and creatinine mass units are required; no clinical correction, population reference or safe exposure level is selected.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Verify units, matrix identity, method calibration and the intended normalization model before making exposure or health inferences.
