Description
Compare recorded layer heights to scaled source heights.
Biofabrication bookkeeping separates nominal geometry, deposition, material bases, layer heights and verification assertions. A local surface, fill fraction or dimensional residual describes supplied values rather than demonstrating an actual construct’s shape, material quality or biological suitability.
Compare recorded layer heights to scaled source heights.
When to use this tool
Use Layer Coordinate Source Gap when checking the stated benign build geometry, measurement, material or record convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter layerIndices, recordedHeights, sourceHeights, unitFactor. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read heightResiduals, mismatchedLayers. Use the output convention below.
Compare recorded layer heights to scaled source heights. Require aligned arrays, unique layerIndices and unitFactor > 0; heightResiduals = recorded-source*factor, mismatchedLayers counts exact nonzero residuals.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| layerIndices | Unique supplied whole-number layer labels; actual ordering and source identity are not verified. | Required. Array of safe integer; maximum items 256. |
| recordedHeights | Recorded Heights | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |
| sourceHeights | Source Heights | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |
| unitFactor | Unit Factor | Required. Finite number; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| heightResiduals | Height Residuals | Required. Array of finite number; maximum items 256. |
| mismatchedLayers | Mismatched Layers | Required. Safe integer. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Layer indexes are unique supplied whole-number labels; no tolerance, layer order or source authenticity is inferred.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified manufacturing records, measured geometry and an appropriate complete process/material assessment for actual construct quality, performance or safe use.
