Description
Return wet-to-dry dimensional retention and their product.
Biofabrication bookkeeping separates nominal geometry, deposition, material bases, layer heights and verification assertions. A local surface, fill fraction or dimensional residual describes supplied values rather than demonstrating an actual construct’s shape, material quality or biological suitability.
Return wet-to-dry dimensional retention and their product.
When to use this tool
Use Biofabrication Dry Wet Shrinkage Factor when checking the stated benign build geometry, measurement, material or record convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter wetDimensions, dryDimensions. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read retentions, volumeRetention. Use the output convention below.
Return wet-to-dry dimensional retention and their product. Require aligned nonempty dimensions, positive wet values and nonnegative dry values; retentions = dry/wet, volumeRetention is their product.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Dry dimensions may exceed wet ones; the product is a volume ratio only for corresponding independent linear dimensions of the intended geometry.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified manufacturing records, measured geometry and an appropriate complete process/material assessment for actual construct quality, performance or safe use.
