Description
Return overlap-adjusted extrusion length and nominal strip area.
Biofabrication bookkeeping separates nominal geometry, deposition, material bases, layer heights and verification assertions. A local surface, fill fraction or dimensional residual describes supplied values rather than demonstrating an actual construct’s shape, material quality or biological suitability.
Return overlap-adjusted extrusion length and nominal strip area.
When to use this tool
Use Extrusion Line Overlap Term when checking the stated benign build geometry, measurement, material or record convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter firstLength, secondLength, overlapLength, width. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read uniqueLength, nominalArea. Use the output convention below.
Return overlap-adjusted extrusion length and nominal strip area. Require nonnegative lengths/width with overlap <= each length; uniqueLength = first+second-overlap, nominalArea = uniqueLength*width.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| firstLength | First Length | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| secondLength | Second Length | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| overlapLength | Overlap Length | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| width | Interval, bin, geometry or dimension width under the specific convention above. | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| uniqueLength | Unique Length | Required. Finite number. |
| nominalArea | Nominal Area | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- This assumes a shared-width strip model and supplied overlap; no actual curved-line intersection or deposited material geometry is measured.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified manufacturing records, measured geometry and an appropriate complete process/material assessment for actual construct quality, performance or safe use.
