Participant Info Omission Share Tool

Measure weighted disclosure omissions against an explicit field inventory, without assessing consent adequacy.

Description

Return weighted missing participant-information share.

Research ethics review involves evidence, participants, governance and context as well as record completeness. Role counts, disclosure presence and weighted criterion terms can organize supplied assertions; a complete checklist or numerical score does not itself determine ethical acceptability or valid authority.

Return weighted missing participant-information share.

When to use this tool

Use Participant Info Omission Share when checking the stated research-review record, role, disclosure or criterion convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter requiredFields, disclosedFields, fieldWeights. Follow any array-alignment requirements below. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read missingWeight, requiredWeight, omissionShare, defined. Inspect defined before interpreting the associated values.

Return weighted missing participant-information share. Require unique aligned requiredFields/nonnegative weights; missingWeight sums undisclosed labels, omissionShare divides by total required weight or is zero with defined false.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Zero-weight omissions do not change the share; matching disclosures does not establish comprehension or valid informed consent.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the original protocol, evidence and governance requirements with the responsible ethics body and qualified professionals for substantive decisions.
