Description

Return consultation response share on an eligible-invitee base.

Research ethics review involves evidence, participants, governance and context as well as record completeness. Role counts, disclosure presence and weighted criterion terms can organize supplied assertions; a complete checklist or numerical score does not itself determine ethical acceptability or valid authority.

Return consultation response share on an eligible-invitee base.

When to use this tool

Use Community Consultation Response Rate Denominator when checking the stated research-review record, role, disclosure or criterion convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter responses, invited, excluded. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read eligible, rate. Use the output convention below.

Return consultation response share on an eligible-invitee base. Require positive whole invited, excluded < invited and responses <= invited-excluded; eligible subtracts excluded, rate = responses/eligible.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Exclusions and response records are supplied; participation rate alone does not establish representativeness or meaningful community consultation.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review the original protocol, evidence and governance requirements with the responsible ethics body and qualified professionals for substantive decisions.
