Description
Correct a bench sensor using a linear temperature-offset model.
Bench measurements use supplied electrical/force references, contact geometry and calibration models. A bridge voltage, pressure or drift correction evaluates a local relationship while actual wiring, sensor response, safe excitation and biological contact conditions require independent verification.
Correct a bench sensor using a linear temperature-offset model.
When to use this tool
Use Bench Sensor Offset Temperature Term when checking the stated benign bench sensor, contact or calibration convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter measured, referenceOffset, temperature, referenceTemperature, offsetPerDegree. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read offset, corrected. Use the output convention below.
Correct a bench sensor using a linear temperature-offset model. offset = referenceOffset+(temperature-referenceTemperature)*offsetPerDegree, corrected = measured-offset.1

} Limitations and assumptions
- Temperature differences and offset units must agree; coefficients, sensor drift and actual calibration are not independently validated.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use calibrated instruments, verified wiring/geometry and a complete engineering assessment; involve qualified professionals for device safety or clinical interpretation.
