Description
Apply a supplied purity fraction and return its reciprocal correction.
Biochemical quantities depend on species definitions, mass versus amount basis, reference states, blank models and assay conditions. A free/bound difference does not establish equilibrium, a per-volume activity differs from activity per protein mass, and a dilution factor differs from its reciprocal aliquot fraction.
Apply a supplied purity fraction and return its reciprocal correction.
When to use this tool
Use Assay Purity Correction Factor when you already have nominalAmount, measuredPurityFraction and need to apply a supplied purity fraction and return its reciprocal correction.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter nominalAmount, measuredPurityFraction. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read pureAmount, correctionFactor. Use the output convention below.
Require nominalAmount>=0 and measuredPurityFraction in (0,1]; return nominal*purity and 1/purity.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| nominalAmount | Nominal Amount | Required. Finite number; minimum 0. |
| measuredPurityFraction | Measured Purity Fraction | Required. Finite number; maximum 1; strictly above 0. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| pureAmount | nominalAmount*measuredPurityFraction. | Required. Finite number. |
| correctionFactor | 1/measuredPurityFraction, a separate reciprocal factor rather than the multiplier used for pureAmount. | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- Pure amount multiplies by purity; the reciprocal is a separate factor for a different adjustment direction. No actual purity, composition, preparation or safe amount is established.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use the full assay, reaction and calibration method with verified sample records. Check units, reference definitions, blanks and experimental assumptions before interpreting a local product, fraction or rate as a valid biochemical measurement.
