Description
Return clock-corrected collection/processing delays.
Biobank quantity and time budgets use explicit parent/aliquot, dead-volume, clock and billing conventions. A remainder, delay envelope or fee term can reconcile supplied records without establishing specimen stability, safe use or actual contractual rights.
Return clock-corrected collection/processing delays.
When to use this tool
Use Biobank Specimen Collection Processing Delay when checking the stated biobank volume, timing, precision or fee convention.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter collectionTime, receivedTime, processingTime, collectionOffset, processingOffset. Use the units and conventions below.
- Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
- Read transportDelay, totalDelay. Use the output convention below.
Return clock-corrected collection/processing delays. Require receivedTime >= collectionTime-collectionOffset and corrected processing >= received; transport = received-corrected collection, total = corrected processing-corrected collection.1
| Input field | Meaning and units | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| collectionTime | Collection Time | Required. Finite number. |
| receivedTime | Reference-clock receipt coordinate; only collection and processing have separate offsets. | Required. Finite number. |
| processingTime | Processing Time | Required. Finite number. |
| collectionOffset | Collection Offset | Required. Finite number. |
| processingOffset | Processing Offset | Required. Finite number. |
| Output field | Interpretation | Returned shape |
|---|---|---|
| transportDelay | Transport Delay | Required. Finite number. |
| totalDelay | Total Delay | Required. Finite number. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- receivedTime is already on the reference clock; offsets and records do not verify actual transport, stability or sample quality.
- Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
- Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Use verified collection/storage records, suitable quality controls and governing billing/permission rules for actual specimen or payment decisions.
