Author Credit Shared First Budget Tool

Allocate supplied bibliometric credit by an explicit shared-first policy, preserving unallocated remainder.

Description

Split one credit budget among shared-first and other authors.

Bibliometric credit and citation indexes depend on corpus coverage, author/affiliation identity and a declared counting convention. A fractional contribution or index threshold describes supplied records without measuring research quality, causality or comparable scholarly impact across fields.

Split one credit budget among shared-first and other authors.

When to use this tool

Use Author Credit Shared First Budget when checking the stated bibliometric contribution, credit allocation or local index step.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter totalCredit, firstRoleShare, sharedFirstAuthors, otherAuthors. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read eachFirst, eachOther, unallocated. Use the output convention below.

Split one credit budget among shared-first and other authors. Require nonnegative total, firstRoleShare in [0,1], sharedFirstAuthors >= 1 and otherAuthors >= 0; first group divides its share equally, others divide the remainder or leave it unallocated when absent.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The role and credit policy are supplied; zero eachOther without other authors does not establish a zero contribution.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified complete publication/citation data, identity resolution and a justified field/context-aware evaluation policy for research assessment.
