BaZi Day Master Identifier

Extract the day stem from explicitly ordered year/month/day/hour pillar stems; unknown day remains flagged with index -1, with no traits or prediction.

Description

Select the day-stem index from supplied pillar stems.

Traditional chart systems use ordered symbolic labels and cyclic angular notation. Arithmetic on supplied stems, sign positions or reflected angles can preserve a convention without computing dates, establishing astronomical positions or supporting personality or future-event predictions.

Select the day-stem index from supplied pillar stems.

When to use this tool

Use BaZi Day Master Identifier when checking the stated traditional label-selection or angular-notation convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter pillarStems, dayKnown. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read result. Expand result to inspect the returned fields.

Select the day-stem index from supplied pillar stems. Require four whole indexes 0..9; known mirrors dayKnown, dayStemIndex is the third element or -1 when unknown.1

Input fieldMeaning and unitsAccepted input
pillarStemsPillar StemsRequired. Array of finite number. Implementation limit: 128 items.
dayKnownDay KnownRequired. Boolean.
Output fieldInterpretationReturned shape
resultReturned calculated value or nested object under the stated output convention.Required. Object.
result.knownSupplied knowledge or lexical-recognition flag under the stated convention, without independent authentication.Calculated result member: boolean.
result.dayStemIndexThird supplied pillar stem (index two), or -1 when known=false.Calculated result member: number.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Pillar order must be year, month, day, hour; no calendar calculation or scientifically supported personality or prediction inference is provided.
  • Outputs are nested inside result. Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use an appropriate calendar or astronomical ephemeris when actual dates or positions are needed, and interpret traditional chart labels within their stated cultural context.
