Urinary Tract Infection CFU/mL 100000 Clinical Cutoff Checker
Screen the historical 100000 CFU/mL threshold only; specimen method, symptoms, organism and patient context determine clinical interpretation.
Description
Compare a supplied urine-culture concentration with the historical 100,000 CFU/mL threshold without establishing a diagnosis.
A historical urine-culture count threshold is a limited numerical reference, not a standalone diagnosis. Interpretation depends on the clinical and specimen context that the calculator does not receive.
When to use this tool
Compare a supplied urine-culture concentration with the historical 100,000 CFU/mL threshold without establishing a diagnosis.
- Prepare the supplied cfuPerMl fields for this operation.
- Compare the complete example with the representation used by your own input before carrying the result into another step.
How to use the tool and how it works
- Enter cfuPerMl. Use the exact text syntax, units and index conventions explained below.
- Run the tool. If input validation fails, correct the supplied fields before interpreting any result.
- Read result.atOrAboveHistorical100000, result.diagnosis. Interpret false, null and empty lists using the distinctions below; they can be valid outputs.
Require nonnegative cfuPerMl. Return atOrAboveHistorical100000 when the value is at least 100,000 and always return diagnosis not-established.1
| Input field | Meaning and representation | Accepted input |
|---|---|---|
| cfuPerMl | cfu per ml. | Finite number; zero or greater |
| Output field | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| result | Object containing the named outputs below. |
| result.atOrAboveHistorical100000 | Flag for at or above historical100000 under the exact condition described above. |
| result.diagnosis | Always not-established: this operation does not establish a diagnosis. |

} Limitations and assumptions
- No specimen, symptoms, collection method or organism is evaluated. Values below the historical boundary do not rule out infection, and values above it do not independently confirm one.
- Every declared top-level field is required and unexpected fields are rejected. Numeric inputs must be finite; ordinary text fields are bounded to 8,192 UTF-16 code units, with tighter operation-specific limits where stated.
- Ordinary string lists have at most 128 entries of at most 128 code units each; numeric lists and matrices have separate bounded size checks. Nonfinite results and excessively large serialized outputs are rejected.
- Indexes are zero-based and spans have an exclusive end unless explicitly stated otherwise. A valid false, null or empty-list result is distinct from malformed input.
Alternative or Complementary methods
Retain specimen context, controls and independently observed features alongside a test label. Use a complete validated identification or analytical workflow when conclusions require several assays; a single stored morphology definition, feature flag or threshold comparison does not identify an organism.
