Methyl Red pH Below 4.4 Positive Threshold Checker

Apply the methyl-red educational pH boundaries below 4.4 and at least 6.2; the intermediate region is retained, not forced positive or negative.

Description

Apply the methyl-red educational pH boundaries below 4.4 and at least 6.2; the intermediate region is retained, not forced positive or negative.

An indicator interpretation can divide a supplied pH into positive, intermediate and negative screen bands. Exact boundary rules matter when values lie at a cutoff.

When to use this tool

Apply the methyl-red educational pH boundaries below 4.4 and at least 6.2; the intermediate region is retained, not forced positive or negative.

  • Prepare the supplied ph fields for this operation.
  • Compare the complete example with the representation used by your own input before carrying the result into another step.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter ph. Use the exact text syntax, units and index conventions explained below.
  2. Run the tool. If input validation fails, correct the supplied fields before interpreting any result.
  3. Read result.below44, result.atOrAbove62, result.interpretation. Interpret false, null and empty lists using the distinctions below; they can be valid outputs.

Require ph within zero through fourteen. Below 4.4 return positive-screen with below44 true; at or above 6.2 return negative-screen with atOrAbove62 true; otherwise return intermediate and both flags false.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The tool does not observe indicator color, measure pH or validate a methyl-red assay. Exactly 4.4 is intermediate and exactly 6.2 is negative-screen; a band is not organism identification.
  • Every declared top-level field is required and unexpected fields are rejected. Numeric inputs must be finite; ordinary text fields are bounded to 8,192 UTF-16 code units, with tighter operation-specific limits where stated.
  • Ordinary string lists have at most 128 entries of at most 128 code units each; numeric lists and matrices have separate bounded size checks. Nonfinite results and excessively large serialized outputs are rejected.
  • Indexes are zero-based and spans have an exclusive end unless explicitly stated otherwise. A valid false, null or empty-list result is distinct from malformed input.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Retain specimen context, controls and independently observed features alongside a test label. Use a complete validated identification or analytical workflow when conclusions require several assays; a single stored morphology definition, feature flag or threshold comparison does not identify an organism.
