Speech Test Correct Word Fraction

Describe an explicitly counted speech-test correct-word fraction without selecting a clinical test norm.

Loading tool…

Description

Calculate a supplied correct-word fraction and percentage.

Hearing records depend on frequency, laterality, masking status, calibration and level reference. A no-response label differs from a measured threshold, while an air-minus-bone gap requires comparable test conditions. Device charge arithmetic and scalar signal offsets do not establish hearing status or suitable care.

Calculate a supplied correct-word fraction and percentage.

When to use this tool

Use Speech Test Correct Word Fraction when you already have correctWords, presentedWords and need to calculate a supplied correct-word fraction and percentage.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter correctWords, presentedWords. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read correctFraction, correctPercent. Use the output convention below.

Require positive safe presentedWords and safe correctWords in [0,presented]; return correct/presented and 100*correct/presented.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • The denominator is supplied presented words. The tool does not validate a speech test, account for list difficulty, assess hearing or prescribe intervention.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review original audiograms, instrument settings, test records and the complete clinical context. Use an appropriate professional assessment for interpretation; local unit conversions and supplied labels do not choose tests, presentation levels or intervention.
