Speech List Omitted Item Denominator Tool

Supplied speech-list scoring denominator; no diagnostic scale or normative cutoff is selected.

Description

Return speech-list correct share under an omission policy.

Audiological records depend on ear/channel identity, stimulus calibration, timing and decibel reference conventions. A local level difference or response share can reconcile supplied observations while hearing ability, safe sound output and clinical test interpretation require validated procedures and professional assessment.

Return speech-list correct share under an omission policy.

When to use this tool

Use Speech List Omitted Item Denominator when checking the stated hearing-test record, acoustic level, frequency or timing convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter correct, incorrect, omitted, includeOmitted. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read denominator, correctShare. Use the output convention below.

Return speech-list correct share under an omission policy. Require nonnegative whole counts with correct+incorrect > 0; denominator adds omitted only when includeOmitted, share = correct/denominator.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Included omissions lower the reported score without imputing responses; no validated speech test, hearing ability or clinical interpretation is established.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated equipment and a complete validated audiological method; consult an appropriate hearing-health professional for diagnosis, fitting or safe exposure decisions.
