Hearing Test No Response Marker

Distinguish a recorded no-response observation from a measured threshold without assigning a hearing-loss category.

Loading tool…

Description

Format a supplied response/no-response hearing-test level marker.

Hearing records depend on frequency, laterality, masking status, calibration and level reference. A no-response label differs from a measured threshold, while an air-minus-bone gap requires comparable test conditions. Device charge arithmetic and scalar signal offsets do not establish hearing status or suitable care.

Format a supplied response/no-response hearing-test level marker.

When to use this tool

Use Hearing Test No Response Marker when you already have responseObserved, testedLevelDb, levelReference and need to format a supplied response/no-response hearing-test level marker.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter responseObserved, testedLevelDb, levelReference. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read label. Use the output convention below.

Require nonempty levelReference; display response at or no response at, the supplied level and dB reference.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • No response at a tested level is not a measured threshold. This does not select a level, verify a response, calibrate hearing level or determine hearing status.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Review original audiograms, instrument settings, test records and the complete clinical context. Use an appropriate professional assessment for interpretation; local unit conversions and supplied labels do not choose tests, presentation levels or intervention.
