Gas Partition Henry Supplied Coefficient Tool

Henry convention C = H*p; caller supplies a coefficient in concentration per pressure, not its reciprocal.

Loading tool…

Description

Return a supplied Henry-law dissolved concentration and amount.

Atmospheric reaction, partitioning and deposition terms depend on supplied rates, spectral coordinates, coefficient definitions and transport assumptions. One bin or first-order factor is distinct from a complete chemical mechanism, evolving plume or verified treatment/exposure outcome.

Return a supplied Henry-law dissolved concentration and amount.

When to use this tool

Use Gas Partition Henry Supplied Coefficient when evaluating the stated atmospheric reaction, photolysis, partitioning or transport term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter partialPressure, henryMolarPerVolumePressure, waterVolume. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read dissolvedConcentration, dissolvedAmount. Use the output convention below.

Return a supplied Henry-law dissolved concentration and amount. Require nonnegative partial pressure, water volume and concentration-per-pressure coefficient; dissolvedConcentration = pressure*coefficient, dissolvedAmount multiplies waterVolume.1

Henry-law coefficients have multiple definitions and reciprocal forms. Equilibrium and dilute-solution assumptions, as well as the concentration-per-pressure direction used here, must match the supplied coefficient.2

Limitations and assumptions

  • The coefficient is the solubility form concentration/pressure, not its reciprocal; temperature, chemistry and equilibrium applicability are supplied assumptions.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use verified coefficients and a complete suitable chemical/transport or spectral model, including changing conditions and omitted processes, for environmental conclusions.
