Lesson Colorwheel Angle Step Tool

Even hue-circle teaching positions; no color-space or pigment-mixing equivalence is implied.

Description

Return a colorwheel sector step and wrapped angle.

Labels, grid coordinates and color-wheel exercises use chosen text-counting and angle conventions. Character counts do not measure visual width, and cyclic indexing does not select a color model. Supplied glyph-width and layout assumptions are estimates rather than a rendered typography check.

Return a colorwheel sector step and wrapped angle.

When to use this tool

Use Lesson Colorwheel Angle Step when checking the stated classroom label or cyclic-angle convention.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter sectors, initialAngle, sector. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read stepDegrees, angleDegrees. Use the output convention below.

Return a colorwheel sector step and wrapped angle. Require whole sectors >= 1 and sector >= 0; step = 360/sectors, angle = mod(initialAngle+step*sector,360).1

initialAngleInitial AngleRequired. Finite number.
sectorNonnegative integer cyclic index; may exceed the number of sectors.Required. Safe integer; minimum 0.

Limitations and assumptions

  • Sector may exceed one cycle; this is angular layout, not a perceptually uniform color model or color conversion.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Inspect rendered labels and actual layout, and use a complete appropriate color or geometry model when visual appearance matters.
