Paper Grain Axis Swelling Token Tool

Apply supplied directional swelling factors without inferring paper grain or material behavior.

Description

Apply a supplied paper-grain expansion factor.

Conservation measurements separate nominal material composition, contact geometry, expansion and mechanical response. A volume fraction or clearance term evaluates supplied properties under a limited model; actual material compatibility, treatment effects and object stability require examination and specialist judgment.

Apply a supplied paper-grain expansion factor.

When to use this tool

Use Paper Grain Axis Swelling Token when checking the stated conservation material, dimensional or mechanical term.

How to use the tool and how it works

  1. Enter measuredAxis, grainAxis, alongFactor, acrossFactor, originalLength. Use the units and conventions below.
  2. Run the tool. Correct any format, range, or cross-field input error before interpreting the output.
  3. Read relation, predictedLength. Use the output convention below.

Apply a supplied paper-grain expansion factor. Require axis labels x/y, positive along/across factors and originalLength >= 0; relation compares axes, predictedLength uses the corresponding factor.1

Limitations and assumptions

  • Grain direction and factors are assertions; real humidity response, treatment suitability and material condition are not inferred.
  • Inputs must satisfy both the field types and the cross-field conditions above. Invalid input causes an error; a successful false flag or documented placeholder is a different result.
  • Numeric calculations use binary floating point unless exact decimal-integer arithmetic is explicitly stated. No hidden measurement tolerance or decimal rounding is added; nonfinite or out-of-contract results are rejected. Numeric signed-zero results are exported as zero.

Alternative or Complementary methods

Use calibrated measurements, representative material tests and qualified conservation/engineering assessment before actual treatment, mounting or handling.
